My Days in Pre-K
My name is Zachary.
Here are some pictures of many of the fun things I did in Pre-K
with Ms. Snowden.
Enjoy!
(These pictures were used with parental permission.)
At large group Ms. Snowden plans lots of fun things. Here I am milking a pretend cow. It squirt real milk from a plastic glove that we pretended were the cow's udders.
At work time we get to wear dress up clothes. This is me dressed like a Doctor. I was working in our pretend Doctor's Office.
Here is another picture of me. I am a construction worker. We learned about a variety of different jobs, and got to dress up like many of them.
Lots of us enjoy playing in the sand during work time and arrival. The sand is a rainbow of colors. We had to take turns using the sand table because only four people can fit at it. Don't forget... sand stays in the sandbox, not on the floor!
This is me working in our class Post Office. We had lots of fun centers during the year like a Doctor's Office, a Dentist's Office, Wendys, a Grocery Store, a bat cave, a bear den, a pumpkin patch and more. You will start the year working at McDonald's. It is so much fun!!!
This is me with the big blocks. I was building a "real" rocketship. You need to be careful with the big blocks... they are very heavy.
We celebrate lots of Birthdays throughout the year. This is a picture of my party at school. I brought snacks and treat bags for everyone. I turned five years old.
This is my Halloween costume this past year. I was the Incredible Dash.
This is me and my mom. She came and ate lunch with me at school during lunch. We enjoy when our parents come visit us in class.
This is me and my dad in our class fire truck pretending to put out a fire. I loved when my dad came to visit me at school.
We took many field trips throughout the year. This is one where I got to play in corn.
We had nap time everyday. Most of us fell asleep during nap time. You have to get up really early each morning to come to Pre-K, and after a busy day everyone is tired.
Farwell to Pre-K
I made new friends, I learned to share.
I learned to take turns, and always play fair.
I learned some songs, and things to do.
Pre-K was fun the whole year through!
I will miss you Ms. Snowden
Love,
An Online Field Trip of Our Classroom

Ms. Snowden's Pre-K Class
To our parents,
Ms. Snowden will NOT be posting any student photographs on the internet... with the exception of Zachary above. We hope you enjoy it!
This is our classroom. We have lots of activities planned throughout the day just for you.
Each day we will have a schedule that we follow. Every morning something will be out for you to do. Here is a picture of paper and crayons that may be out at the table at arrival.
This is where we check out library books. A few weeks into the school year, everyone checks out one book to take home daily. Someone will read the book at home to you, and you will return it to school the next day to check out a new one.
We do calendar everyday. This is when we talk about our day. We have a leader, door holder, and plant helper. We talk about our class news, and put a number on the calendar. We talk about words like yesterday, today, and tomorrow, as well as many other skills.
We have large group. This is when everyone sits on the floor and listens to stories and does a variety of other fun things. We always get some of our wiggles out at this time by moving to music.
We have small groups. We plan lots of fun activities throughout the year to do with your small group each day.
Outside time is super fun! We go outside everyday... unless it is raining. We have a fun playground with things to climb on, slides, and swings. We bring books and writing materials outside daily. We also plan activities for learning centers outside.
We have breakfast and lunch each day at school. We walk to the lunchroom, and the lunch ladies make us some really yummy food! This is what our lunchroom looks like.
We have work time. This is the most fun part of the day for most kids. You get to do many of these centers listed below:
This is our READING AREA. We have lots of books, and even some props to use with some of the books. In the corner you will find our listening center. This is where we have a variety of books and tapes to listen to on head phones. We love to read in Pre-K.
This is our FLANNEL BOARD. We use this to tell and retell stories. We do a new flannel board story each week.
This is our WRITING CENTER. We have lots of writing utencils to use (crayons, pencils, markers, colored pencils, and other). We love to write words that we know (especially our names), letters/numbers, or even words from the word wall. We have lots of different kinds of paper, and even envelopes to use. Most of the kids love the stickers the best. We love decorating our writing papers with stickers, and taping them on the wall, giving them to a friend/teacher, or taking them home. We even have mailboxes. The writing center is cool!!!
This is our MATH CENTER. We use these materials for counting, sorting, identifying shapes, getting our eyes and hands working together, as well as other skills. All of the math activities are so much fun!
This is our HOUSE KEEPING CENTER. We will open house keeping on the first day of school. The kids enjoyed pretending to make food, dressing up, and taking care of babies. We will introduce the telephones, reading and writing materials, as well as role play a variety of ways to play here.
We will start our year with a McDONALD'S RESTAURANT. We have pretend McDonald's food, uniforms, and even a cash register. Frequently Ms. Snowden changes this pretend center. Soon we will have a Wendy's, Doctor's Office, pumpkin patch, Dentist's Office, Post Office, grocery store, Subway, and bear den. Everyone loves this center.
This is our ART AREA. We have lots of art materials that you can glue or tape together to make a picture to put on our wall at school or take home. We do lots of art in Pre-K. We have an easel that has two different types of paint on them. You can paint a picture everyday... if you want.
We have a variety of BLOCKS at school.
We use the COMPUTER everyday. The kids are already loving using the computer. We are learning the following vocabulary for our computer (mouse, screen, keyboard, hard drive, and printer).
Our SCIENCE CENTER is also very exciting. We experiment and explore a variety of things in this center.
We have a SAND TABLE that we play in and explore. We also explore objects in water, beans, rice, and other tactile items. Fun, fun!
This is our DRY ERASE BOARD. This is open during work time. You can write or draw pictures for everyone to see. This is also a very fun center!
We have lots of MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS in our classroom. Each day we listen and move to a variety of types of music. We also get to use things like scarves, streamers, ribbons, and even a huge parachute during these musical activities.
We have FLOOR PUZZLES and TABLE PUZZLES that we do as a group or by ourselves.
I am so glad you are in our class,
Ms. Snowden
